Former Global COO of Deutsche Bank’s Investment Bank joins Cinven
International private equity firm, Cinven, today announced the appointment of Dominic Smyth as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) with effect from 1 September 2026.
Dominic brings nearly 27 years of experience in senior operational, financial and strategic leadership roles to Cinven, having spent most of his career at Deutsche Bank across the Investment Banking, Capital Markets, and Sales and Trading divisions. While at Deutsche Bank he served as Global COO of the Investment Bank and Member of the Investment Bank Executive Committee, a role he held for five years. Prior to that he held a series of senior COO positions spanning Global Corporate Finance, Corporate and Investment Banking EMEA, and Global Debt Capital Markets, giving him deep expertise across business development and strategy, financial performance management, regulatory affairs, and operational effectiveness.
Dominic also served as a Non-Executive Director of Deutsche Numis, where he was a member of the audit, risk and remuneration committees.
