Over 100-year-old Master Builders Solutions was acquired by Cinven in 2023. Since then, it has regained the number one spot in advanced chemical solutions for the construction sector by shifting its focus from maximising volume to maximising value for its customers, and from cutting costs to growing the business.
With the support of Cinven’s regional and sector expertise, CEO Dr. Boris Gorella, who has over 20 years of experience in the chemicals and basic materials sectors, has successfully led the growth of Master Builders Solutions. The company has successfully entered new markets, acquiring strategic bolt-ons in Italy, Spain and the Dominican Republic. It has also expanded into adjacent product segments, becoming more agile and entrepreneurial along the way.
Expansion has benefited from some €50 million in investments and the number of production plants has increased from 35 to 43, helping to nearly double EBITDA.
