Ian Irvine appointed non-executive Chairman of Santémedia HoldingsThe Board of Santémedia Holdings (“the Company”) is pleased to announce that Ian Irvine has been appointed non-executive Chairman of the Company. Santémedia is the investment company that owns MediMedia, the international healthcare information and marketing services group.
MediMedia was acquired by Cinven, Carlyle, Apax and management from Vivendi Universal Publishing in June 2002.
Ian Irvine has had a distinguished career in the media industry, initially with Fleet Holdings (The Express Newspaper Group) as Managing Director. Ian joined Octopus Publications Group as Chief Executive in 1986, and moved to Reed International plc in 1987 on their acquisition of Octopus. Ian became Chairman of Reed International in 1994 and was one of the architects of Reed’s merger with Elsevier to form Reed Elsevier, where he was co-Chairman and CEO until 1997.
Ian has held a number of non-Executive board opportunities including the Chairmanship of BskyB, TvAM, and Capital Radio, and a director of Reuters.
